moving cable modem

I currently have a server closet literally in my front all closet, problem is that it gets way to hot in there for it, so I would like to move my system router ect to my detached garage.
problem is is how can i do that? ive never done anything with a catv cable beyond plug into tv and a cable modem. i am perfectly handy enough to do this as my cable co want 200 to do this move.
but do i need a special kind of cable to bury? what's the best way to bring it out of the house? the run would be roughly 50 ft at the most. and tehn i have a wire box in my front all close for network connections throughout my house so i would like to run a single cat cable back to the closet and plug into my house for distribution. but how can i do this?
ask me more questions im sure im not sharing anywhere near enuff info

I would dig a 20" deep trench to the garage, and run at least 1 1/4 pvc pipe from the house to the garage. Then pull the cables through the pipe and make connections. This will give you room for more cables if needed. If you want more room for expansion run a bigger pvc pipe.
