Installed new switches, now microwave clock running fast

I installed new switches in my dining room. Apparently the wiring for the microwave runs through this junction. The setup is the same as the old setup, one dimmer and one regular toggle switch. Now that it is installed, my microwave runs about 30 minutes fast over 24 hours.

I am assuming the dimmer is somehow altering the frequency but curious why the old dimmer didn't do this. It's a quality dimmer, was about $25. What should I do??

Microwave ovens tend to draw a lot of power. I would install a dedicated circuit for the microwave.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, that's way out of my skill set. The microwave is plugged into a regular outlet inside of a top cupboard. It is an old (80's) model that fits over the stove and also functions as a light and fan.

That sounds typical, and I really can’t say if your dimmer is causing the problem. But what I have seen many times is people having chain stores installing microwaves like that without providing the proper power requirements, they just connect to any circuit, and then the customer has problems and ends up calling a company like I work for about power problems.
